OCEAN OBSERVATORY- ACTIONS

ACTIONS
	Development and carrying out of scientific research expeditions.
	Logistic and financial support to Ph.D. students in marine mammals sciences.
	Educational field expeditions for islands youth to discover and study marine ecosystems and marine mammals
	Creation of a cetacean atlas and chart for scientific and conservation purposes.
	Editing of the Ocean-Observatory eco-booklet, freely distributed in the islands.
	Organization of conferences to inform yachtsman about marine mammals.
	Logistic support to photographer and writer Jean Pierre Sylvestre in publishing the "Guide to Marine Mammals in the Caribbean"
	Presence at nautical events (boat-shows, regattas,...).
	Invitations for international journalist to expeditions.

OBSERVERS

A network of international marine mammal observers will be supplying distribution data. Yachts, charter boats, bareboats, fishing boats, commercial ships and airplanes have been involved. Sighting forms are available in all islands, thanks to the participation of collecting centers.
